Chapter 3 and 4

1. Why doesn't Candy want to kill his dog?
Candy does not kill his dog because he raised it and cared for it, and loves it, it used to be a great dog.

Are Candy's feeling understandable? Have you ever felt very attached to an old or sick animal that had to be put to sleep(killed)? Explain your feelings.
I have never been attached to some animal that has died or had to be put to sleep.

Why does Candy say later on that he should have shot his dog himself and not let a stranger do it?
He realizes that he dog should have died with someone he knew and respected it, and not killed by some stranger that never loved it.

2.Why did Curley pick on Lennie?
Curley picks on Lennie because he gets pride and feels good from beating up people who are stonger and bigger than he is.

Describe Curley's main prblem in your opinion.
Curley's main problem is his ego, hew wants to have power and he is used to it, bes the masters son.

Why didn't Lennie fight back at first when Curley hit him? Lennie didn't fight back at first becasue he didn't want to do a bad thing and be yelled at by George.

What happened to Curley as a result of picking on Lennie?
Lennie completely crushed his hand and broke all the bones in his fingers, he forced Curley to seek medical attention immidiately.

3.How does Crooks react to Lennie's appearance at the door of his room?
At first he is shocked and offended telling Lennie to leave because it is his area, but he eventually lets Lennie inside to talk.

Crook's says people at the ranch dont like him because?
He is old, cant do very much and he is next to useless because of his injury, he is also disliked because he is black.

Crook's invites Lennie to stay and talk with thim because?
Crooks gets very lonely almost no one ever talks to him, especially with white people, so he was glad for the company and having someone to talk to.
